Kashmir TV Artiste Shot Dead By Terrorists In Budgam

Budgam: A woman identified as Amreen Bhat who is a Television Artist was shot dead by terrorists in the Chadoora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.

According to reports, her minor nephew was also injured in the attack. Terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) conducted the attack according to police.

Jammu Kashmir Police in a statement said that “Terrorists fired upon one Amreen Bhat at her residence in Chadoora, Budgam today. She was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared her dead. Her 10-year-old nephew also received a bullet injury on his arm.”

The police further added that the area has been secured and search operations have begun. A case has also been registered and an investigation is underway.

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a tweet condemned the attack and said that “Shocked & deeply saddened by the murderous militant attack on Ambreen Bhat. Sadly Ambreen lost her life in the attack & her nephew was injured. There can be no justification for attacking innocent women & children like this.”
