IMD Issues Red Alert In Several Parts Amid Heavy Rainfall

Mumbai: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted instances of extreme rainfall over Konkan and Goa for the next five days.

Meanwhile, in the wake of heavy rainfall & keeping in mind the drowning incidents, all the beaches in Mumbai shall be opened to the general public from 6 am to 10 am only: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. Mumbai, Palghar, and Thane have been issued red alert due to the prediction of heavy rainfall.

The department further predicted heavy rainfall for the next four days in parts of Himachal Pradesh. IMD has further issued a red alert in the district of Udupi due to instances of heavy rainfall in the area. Schools and colleges have been shut in the area. NDRF teams have been deployed in several parts to carry out rescue operations.

There seems to be no respite from the heat in Delhi-NCR as India Meteorological Department (IMD) has removed the ‘Orange Alert’ and issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ in Delhi for the next six days.
