Bulldozer Action In Nuh Following Violence

Date:

Days after the communal clashes in Haryana’s Nuh which claimed at least five lives, the state government on Friday launched a bulldozer action in Tauru town and razed at least 250 shanties built on government land which was occupied illegally. Tauru is about 20 km away from the violence-hit Nuh district.

According to the sources quoted in a media report, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had ordered the bulldozer action. The move can be seen as an action against the rioters who were involved in the Nuh communal clash, as on several occasions the state government has pointed out the involvement of these immigrants in that clash.

Reportedly, the razed shanties were built on the Haryana Authority land.

The four-hour-long action was carried out by the teams of the Rapid Action Force, which also included the Women Police Force as well. Several top-level government officials were also present at the spot.

Meanwhile, Muslim religious leaders in Gurugram have requested to offer the Friday namaz this week from their homes and not visit any mosque.

At the same time, Nuh’s Superintendent of Police Varun Singla was transferred to another district on Thursday. The SP was on pre-approved leave when the communal clashes broke out on July 31st. As of now, IPS officer Narendra Bijarniya has been appointed in Singla’s place. Narendra Bijarniya had earlier headed the police force in Nuh from February 2020-October 2021.
