BJP’s ‘mook-darshak mandal’ has finally decided to speak: Congress

Date:

Reacting to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seniors’ missive to the party post the bihar debacle, the Congress party said on Wednesday that the ‘mook-darsak mandal’ (silent board) had finally decided to make its presence felt.

Senior Congress leader Shakeel Ahmed said that the ‘margdarshak mandal’ which was usually known as the ‘mook-darshak mandal’ has finally decided not to stay quiet.

He added: “It is known to all that there is internal conflict within the Bharatiya Janata Party. The senior leaders have been sidelined, there is supremacy of only one man i.e. Narendra Modi ji. Amit Shah, who has never headed a state, is now head of the party. But this is the internal matter of the BJP and we don’t have anything to say on this.”

Another Congress leader Manish Tewari took potshots at the BJP, adding that the fireworks had started in the saffron party.

“In the BJP there is a ‘shah’ and there is a ‘tanashah’ and, therefore, the elderly gentlemen are desperately searching for their youth. So there is a new variant of the Ramlila which has started off in the BJP around Diwali,” he said.

Late on Tuesday evening, party patriarch Lal Krishna Advani and three other BJP veterans issued a scathing statement on the party’s defeat in Bihar, demanding a thorough review and criticising its stand on the debacle.

“The results of Bihar election show that no lesson has been learnt from fiasco in Delhi,” said the statement signed by Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha.

Reacting to the embarrassing statement, the BJP’s top brass played it diplomatically, saying that it was ‘fortunate’ to be led by Advani for decades and welcomed any guidance and suggestion by the senior leaders.
