Mumbai crippled; rain refuses to take a break

Date:

Mumbai: So, Mumbai wasn’t ready for the rains. It’s evident. Also, it’s going to be pouring tomorrow as well, with the MET department predicting incessant rains for the next 24 hours. In all the midst, Mumbai’s Mithi river has breached its danger level quickly and unexpectedly, making people in the vicinity panic.

To add to the woes, the whole blame game has raised its ugly head. While people are blaming the authorities for their lack of preparedness, authorities are busy passing the buck to others. While train services have been badly crippled, the flight services have been hit too. The Juhu airport is completely submerged, while other flights are operating with a 30-minute lag.

Aaditya Thackeray has been busy on twitter clearing doubts about the government putting in efforts and sharing helpline numbers as well. With areas like Hindmata, Dadar, Kurla and Matunga all submerged, people have been advised to stay put at home unless absolutely urgent.

Keeping this in mind, schools will remain closed tomorrow as well, to prevent the children from getting caught in the rain or falling sick.

Even though local trains resumed service very slowly, passenger and long distance trains have been delayed, and some of them might even get canceled if the situation becomes worse.
