Mumbai: Bollywood actress and former beauty queen Dia Mirza tied her knot on Saturday with her long-time beau and business partner Sahil Sangha. The couple has been celebrating the build up to the nuptials with their family and friends in the Capital as well as Mumbai.
The Bollywood diva has been posting pictures updating her fans about the beautiful moments from her wedding rituals on Twitter. While, mehendi ceremony took place on Thursday, sangeet ceremony was celebrated on Friday.
The couple opted for a close knit mehendi ceremony at Chattarpur farm in Delhi on Friday. Dia Mirza looked ravishing in a blue and golden coloured Anita Dongre lehenga. She paired it up with matching jewellery. Sahil, too, rocked the look with a bandhgala coat.
The former beauty queen opted for a Ritu Kumar outfit for the function. Dia looked gorgeous in a marigold yellow chanderi multi-panelled kurta, while Sahil opted for a red coloured kurta and white pyjamas for the event.
Dia also posted a picture from the ceremony on microblogging site twitter and wrote, “With my happiness 🙂 thank you to all those who have conveyed such warm messages here. Sahil and I are grateful.”
Talking about Dia Mirza’s outfit, Ritu Kumar said, “The kurta has a vintage cut used in the courts of Agra around the 15th century. The neck is deep and worked in embroidered gota patti on net like the technique used at the time. The gold metallic taar used is of silver worked in gold thread and dori to give it a stylised plant inlay look. Each panel is highlighted with a flowering buta. The odhni is fuschia worked with small butis of the same beaten gold gota patti, a fuschia brocade deep sinjaf finishes the edges of the outfit.”
Dia is likely to host a lavish reception for her colleagues in Mumbai. Sahil proposed to Dia in New York in April this year, after their visit to an award show in Tampa Bay.
The duo co-own a production house called Born Free Entertainment, which released its second project Bobby Jasoos earlier this year, featuring actress Vidya Balan in the lead role.
The couple had to postpone their wedding twice, once in November last year and once in January, 2014.
