Encounter breaks out in Bandipora

Srinagar, Sep 22 (PTI) An encounter broke out betweenmilitants and security forces in Bandipora district of northKashmir this morning, army said. Acting on specific intelligence inputs about the presenceof militants in Aragam village of Bandipora, security forcescordoned off the area and launched a search operation, an armyofficial said. He said as the forces were conducting the searchoperation, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering anencounter. Firing was going on at the encounter site when lastreports came in, the official said, adding more details aboutthe operation were awaited.PTI SSB MIJDV
