Motorola launches Moto G X and Moto 360

New Delhi: At simultaneous events in Chicago and New Delhi, Motorola has announced its new range of smartphones – the Moto G and the Moto X along with the smartwatch Moto 360.

The second generation Moto G comes with a larger 5-inch 720p display with stereo speakers on the front and is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and comes with Motorola’s own suite of apps. The smartphone is packed with an 8MP rear shooter and a 2MP front camera. The phone – with 16GB internal storage and a microSD card slot – is 10.99mm thick and weighs 149 gram and comes with water-resistant nano coating. Moto G is priced at Rs 12,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting Friday midnight.

The company also unveiled Moto X with a 5.2-inch full HD 1080p AMOLED display and a curved back encased in a metal frame. The specifications of the new Moto X include a 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and water-resistant nano coating. The phone has a 13MP rear camera with dual LED ring flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. However, Moto X will be available later this month in India and the pricing would be revealed at that time. However, Moto X is available at $499 (nearly Rs 30,000) in the US.

Motorola also announced the much-awaited Moto 360 smartwatch. The Moto 360 supports wireless charging and Motorola says the smartwatch can run a day on a single charge. What makes the Moto 360 so desirable is its slim and circular display. This measures 1.5-inches and packs a 320×290 native resolution which sits in the same ballpark as the square LG G Watch (280×280) and Samsung Gear 2 (320×320).

Moto 360 comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Moto 360 will be coming to India later this month but available at $249 (nearly Rs 15,000) in the US.
