Japanese teen named air guitar world champion

London: A Japanese teenage girl has won the 19th annual Air Guitar World Championships held in Oulu, Finland.

Nanami Nagura, who sported the nick name ‘Seven Seas’ beat 15 other participants to win the contest for Japan.

The 19-year-old teen from Tokyo took home the prize of a handmade electric guitar.

The contestants had to perform two, one minute rounds, where they had to play a song of their own choice and one by the judges.

Participants were judged in four categories i.e. technical merit, mimesmanship, stage presence and ‘airness’, or presentation.
