Just a few weeks after banning “Lipstick Under My Burkha” CBFC (Censor Board of Film Certification) bans Raveena Tandon’s comeback movie ‘Maatr’ under the set of rules which violates “Bhartiya Sanskriti”
The film is about Rape and Revenge drama which is allegedly inspired by infamous Nirbhaya case which was scheduled to release on April 21st.

According to the reports, the team just walked out from the screening, claiming the screening of the movie was very much different from its script.
CBFC committee said “Rape sequences are always tricky. We never know when they stop becoming shocking and get into the voyeuristic/titillating zone. In Maatr, the women’s violation is subject to allegations of excessive elaboration. Though the film is well-intended and hard hitting, we cannot take the risk of incurring the wrath of organisations devoted to prevention of violation against women.”

In recent past Academy award winner “The Danish Girl” was also banned from screening due to ‘Unsuitable content’
Raveena Tandon’s Maatr will now be appealing to the revising committee which could be a long process.
“We have done our best to accommodate this film’s requirements. We even opened the CBFC office on Saturday, a non-working-day, to re-view the film.” Pahlaj Nilani said in this matter according to a report.
