Triple Talaq ‘victims’ to get pension in Assam

Assam Education and Health minister, Biswa Sarma said, The government is planning to give pension and will hold skill development programmes to help the  Triple Talaq  ‘victims’ to become self-sufficient and strong.
“The skill development will be imparted for all the divorcees and we have proposed special scheme to provide them with pension during this period to make them self-resilient. Muslim women unlike women from other religions do not get Alumni” Biswa said on Thursday.

The pension proposal has been recommended in revised draft population policy, which is renamed as ‘Draft population and women empowerment policy of Assam’. The main objective of this draft is to check the population by bringing socio-economic reforms in the state.
