Customs seize over 38 kg of gold at IGI Airport

New Delhi: Customs official have seized 38.430 kilograms of gold at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on March 16. While keeping a surveillance on passengers coming in from Herat, Afghanistan, Customs officials stopped some lady passengers while they were passing through the Green Channel at the airport after landing in New Delhi via Flight No. 4Q 245. On searching their baggage, 38.4 kilograms of gold (necklace, kada and chain) valued at Rs 10, 60,19,646/- were recovered from them.
