Smooth functioning of Parliament is top priority: BJP

Date:

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley said the priority of all political parties should be to ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament. It is the Government’s responsibility to ensure that there are no disturbances in this session.

“There are various issues like inflation, new disclosures in the VVIP helicopter deal, and we will try to raise these issues. The North East issue is a very serious matter of concern. We want to have a discussion on this in the Parliament session,” he added.

Earlier, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath said the support of political parties on key Bills should be clear and sincere. “The speaker has appealed to all the political parties that all efforts should be made to make this session of the 15th Lok Sabha a historic one. I repeat that these last 12 days of the session should be memorable,” Nath said after the All Party Meeting.
