I am not shocked, we didn’t do this alliance for power: Mehbooba on BJP-PDP breakup

Date:

Srinagar: Few hours after BJP’s dramatic break up with PDP in Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti resigned as the Chief Minister of the state and expressed her views.

“I am not shocked. We didn’t do this alliance for power. This alliance had a bigger motive- unilateral ceasefire, PM’s visit to Pakistan, withdrawal of cases against 11,000 youth,” Mufti added.

She further clarified that PDP is not looking to make an alliance.

“I submitted my resignation to the Governor and told him that we are not looking to explore any other alliance,” she said.

Meanwhile, former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah clarified that National Conference is not planning to make the government.

“I am not desperate to make the govt. We are not enjoying this breakup. We are mourning the demise of democracy. We are not celebrating it,” Omar Abdullah said.

“I have told Governor that since no party has the mandate to form the government, he will have to impose Governor rule in the state,” Abdullah added.
