Sensex, Nifty fall for the third straight session, pulled down by Reliance Industries

Sensex and Nifty fell for the third consecutive session on Monday, weighed down by index heavyweight Reliance Industries. The Sensex ended down 0.53% at 34,134.38, while the broader Nifty ended 0.57% lower at 10,245.25.

Reliance Industries ended down 3.5%. The markets started the session on a positive note, with the Sensex jumping as much as 433 points, to touch an intraday high of 34,748, in early trade. However, they reversed those gains in the second half of the session.
