Best match of my life: Saina Nehwal ties the knot with Parupalli Kashyap

Date:

Ace badminton players Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap are now a happily married couple. Saina took everyone by surprise when she posted pictures on her of the duo on her Twitter account announcing her marriage.

“Best match of my life…#justmarried ” the caption said.

The couple will host a star-studded reception on Sunday.

As per media reports, the couple was set to tie the knot on December 16, 2018. Saina and Kashyap were dating since 2007 but they kept their relationship a secret affair.

“We started travelling for bigger tours from 2007-08 onwards. We played tournaments together, trained together and slowly, started paying more attention to each other’s matches. In the competitive world that we live in, it is difficult to get close to someone. But somehow we both found it very easy to talk to each other, talk about our matches. The feeling gradually grew,” she had said earlier.

The Hyderabad-duo were trained under Pullela Gopichand since 2005. Saina has won 20 major titles, an Olympic bronze and a silver at the World Championships while Kashyap is a Commonwealth Games Gold winner in 2014.
