The ‘Baby- faced Assassin’ set for his first Man United game as a manager

Premier League giants Manchester United will be with a new manager for the fifth time in five and a half years when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take his Red Devils to Cardiff City on Saturday.

Solskjaer was appointed as the club’s caretaker boss on Wednesday, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday.

The Norwegian has been a club legend and was a big part of the club’s sides under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson, having joined the club in 1996. The striker was known for being a deadly goalscorer, scored 91 goals in over 230 appearances for the club.

Solskjaer famously won Manchester United the historic treble in the summer of 1999, when his goal in the last minute of stoppage time had seen the club win three major titles in one season for the very first time.

Having joined from his childhood side Molde, Solskjaer’s first game in charge will see him visit the side that he managed for a brief period in 2014- Cardiff City. While that tenure proved to be a failure as the Welsh side got relegated, but this is expected to be a much newer challenge for the man who is also known as the ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’.

Mourinho departed from United two days after a 3-1 defeat to arch rivals Liverpool. The defeat left United at sixth in the Premier League, following their worst start to a Premier League season.
