The new Delhi Metro’s Pink Line connecting Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar 1 finally opens on Monday at 4.00 PM for commuters.
The 59-kilometre-long line spans Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar. After the linking of Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1, the only stretch remaining now is Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake Station.
The corridor from Lajpat Nagar to Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 has five stations namely Lajpat Nagar, Vinobapuri, Ashram, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mayur Vihar Phase 1 and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1. Both the Mayur Vihar stations are elevated ones while the rest are underground.

On Sunday, the official Twitter handle of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation carried out the news of the inauguration of the new metro line.

There is one interchange station on this line which is Mayur Vihar Phase 1. The corridor will be inaugurated at 11.00 AM by Union Minister of State (independent charge) Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia from the Metro Bhawan.

Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro Station is to become one of the major transit hubs of the Delhi Metro as there would be direct connectivity to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station and Sarai Kale Khan Inter State Bus Terminus.
The trains will operate at a peak hour frequency of 5 minutes and 12 seconds between Majlis Park and Mayur Vihar Pocket 1, while during the non-peak hours, the frequency will be 5 minutes and 45 seconds.
