The movie is based on a fascinating incident wherein Vijay Karnik and a team of 300 women civilians reconstructed a wrecked Indian Air Force airstrip during wartime. He convinced around 300 women to mend the airstrip that had been wrecked by the air strike undertaken by Pakistan. They rebuild the airstrip so that a flight carrying Indian Army officers could land safely. Karnik, along with two other officers, 50 Air Force soldiers, and 60 Defence Security Corps personnel, kept the airbase operational despite heavy Pakistani bombing.

Ajay Devgn is currently working on ‘De De Pyaar De’ and ‘Taanaji’, and also roped in to be a part of Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’.

Karnik had also shared his experiences during the time, saying he had briefed the civilians where they could take shelter if attacked and they followed it bravely. “I could only see Ajay Devgn essaying my character and I’m glad that he’s on board,” added Karnik.
