All you need to know about DU admissions 2017

Around 10,000 students scored more than 95% marks in CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) this year, which is almost 800 more than last year’s result. Although there is a slight decrease in a number of 90% scorers, The cut-off for Delhi University is likely to remain the same, according to the experts.

Delhi University has increased the seats to 56000, but it’s negligible with growing level of high scorers in class 12th. Delhi University offers 66 colleges and five other recognized institutes with 85 academics departments. There is no hold bar for different education boards like State Boards or ISC (Indian School Certificate). Cut-offs will be the main criteria for the student with required marks to get admission on first come first basis.

1st Cut-off June 20

2nd Cut-off June 24

3rd Cut-off July 1

4th Cut-off July 7

5th Cut-off July 13

Sixth and Final Cut off July 18

Documents to carry for admissions

  • Class 10 mark sheet and certificates
  • Class 12 mark sheet and certificates
  • Transfer certificate
  • Character certificate
  • Photographs (carry both stamp size and passport size)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Sports or other quota documents
  • Scanned copy of photograph and signature
  • Disability certificate (if any)

Dr. SC Shukla, Former Principal of DCAC (Delhi College of Arts and Commerce) and Head of Economics Department said: “Students should concentrate on getting their favorite subject rather than their choice of college, as the degree off all the colleges in DU remains the same.”

“While DU is one of the highly regarded universities of the countries but it does not mean that not getting admission in DU is the end of the road for the aspiring students to pursue their interest further in subjects”. he added.
