Rain derails Mumbai local services

Date:

Mumbai: Rain Gods are wreaking havoc in Mumbai again, as heavy downpour disrupted suburban train services on both Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR).

As it was pouring since Monday night, trains on CR were running at least 20-40 minutes late, while delay on WR was about 10-20 minutes.

Waterlogging at Palghar and Boisar stations delayed WR train services beyond Virar since early morning, said Government Railway Police Control room.

It seems that train services came to halt at Palghar since the wee hours and several passenger trains are also stuck.

According to the control room CR tracks also experienced waterlogging at Kalyan.

Heavy rains are expected in Mumbai over the next 24 hours.
