Date:

Mumbai: 2023 was a year all about Bollywood weddings. From Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani turning their reel love story into reality to Parineeti Chopra and Raghav tying the knot with tight security, the year was filled with laughter and joy for Bollywood stars. As we come closer to the end of the year, let’s look back at Bollywood couples who laid the path for wedding trends for the upcoming year.

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul

The year started off with Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty, marrying her long-time boyfriend, cricketer KL Rahul, on January 23. The wedding was an intimate affair with only close friends, family, and few celebrities at Suniel’s Khandala farmhouse. Following traditional south Indian rituals and festivities, the wedding details were kept private until the day, similar to how the couple handled dating rumors without any official reactions.

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra transitioned from an on-screen couple to a real-life pair, grabbing everyone’s attention, especially after sharing glimpses of their majestic ceremony in a wedding video. Kiara, as the bride, wore a pink lehenga by Manish Malhotra, setting a new style trend. Sidharth chose an ivory sherwani with a regal sheen, looking dashing. They exchanged vows on February 7 at Jaisalmer’s Suryagarh Palace. Their official wedding announcement read, “Ab humari permanent booking ho gayi hai (now we are permanently booked).” The Shershah couple’s nuptials were attended by Mira Rajput, Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, Juhi Chawla, and others.

 Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha

Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha’s wedding was one of the most talked-about events of the year, attended by big political leaders. The two got engaged at Kapurthala House in Delhi on May 13 and tied the knot on September 24. Before the big day, they celebrated many pre-wedding events, including a Chooda ceremony, Haldi, mehendi, and even a cricket match pitting the Chopras against the Chadhas. Their well-guarded wedding at Udaipur’s The Leela Palace was attended by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Harbhajan Singh, Sania Mirza, Manish Malhotra, and Aditya Thackeray, among others.

Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmed

Swara Bhasker and Samajwadi Party leader Fahad Ahmed’s wedding came as a pleasant surprise for fans. Choosing a court marriage, they officially submitted their papers on January 6 under the Special Marriage Act. After first meeting at a rally, the couple later tied the knot in March, celebrating the occasion with events including haldi, sangeet, and walima. The duo welcomed their first child in September, a daughter, named Raabiyaa.

 Randeep Hooda and Lin Laishram

Randeep Hooda tied the knot with Mary Kom fame Lin Laishram in a simple traditional Meithi ceremony in Manipur on November 29. Randeep wore white, looking like a typical Manipuri groom, and Lin, in traditional attire with lots of gold ornaments, looked like the perfect Manipuri bride. They shared their wedding news online, saying, ‘From today, we are One.’ Later, they hosted a wedding reception in Mumbai for their friends in the industry.
