Hyderabad, Aug 23 (PTI) Telangana police, probingcases related to slain Naxal-turned-gangster MohammedNayeemuddin, today arrested ten members of his gang, includingfive college students, on various charges. Nayeemuddin was killed in alleged encounter earlier thismonth. Police have so far registered 39 cases against Nayeemand his gang members. An SIT has been formed to probe thecases and police had earlier arrested 34 people. "During the process of investigation of cases againstthe Nayeem gang, the SIT officers today arrested ten accused-four from Bhongir Town and six from Nalgonda," a release frompolice said. Kathula Jangaiah (driver), P Nagaraju (MBA student), GShivaraju (painter) and Bachu Nagaraju (shop owner), all gangmembers of Nayeem along with one Pasham Srinu are involved incases of criminal conspiracy, kidnap, forcible extortions andforcible transfer of properties and dispossessed the originalowners from their shops and plots and also extorted Rs onecrore from an NRI and a local businessman, police said. Similarly, Sayed Ansarullahgouri, Mohammed ZabiuddinSayeq, Shaik Abdulla, Mohammed Tabrez (all students), SyedAzaz (ambulance driver) and Mohammed Mubin (fruit seller), allNayeem gang members, are involved in cases of extortion,attempt to murder, wrongful confinement and cheating byputting the persons in fear of death, they said. Efforts are on to arrest remaining members of Nayeem’sgang. Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem alias Balanna (45), wanted inseveral cases including the murder of an IPS officer, waskilled in an alleged encounter with police in Shadnagar townof Mahabubnagar district of the state on August 8. Nayeem formed a criminal gang and was allegedly indulgingin many grabbings, extortions, kidnappings etc, which have notbeen reported to Police due to fear of reprisal, police said.PTI VVK NPAQSJMF
