60% Of Indian Citizens Have Left Ukraine So Far, Says Shringla

New Delhi: Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Tuesday said out of an estimated 20,000 Indian citizens in Ukraine, 60 per cent have left the country since the first advisory was issued by the government.

Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla says:-

  • India to launch 26 more flights to evacuate stranded nationals in Ukraine.
  • PM Modi held a high-level meeting to discuss the Ukraine war situation.
  • He reviewed measures for the safe evacuation of Indians which is the top priority of the government.
  • Out of 20,000 Indian students and nationals 12,000 have already left Ukraine.
  • On Wednesday morning IAF C 17 transport aircraft will leave here for Romania to bring back Indian nationals.
  • PM Modi on Tuesday received calls from the French and Polish Presidents.
  • PM also spoke to Slovak and Romanian counterparts.
  • Apart from Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, fifth route of Moldova has also opened.
  • Foreign Secretary reiterated to Ambassadors of Ukraine and Russia to provide safe corridor to Indian nationals for evacuation.
  • Situation in intense conflict zones difficult but reaching out to stranded Indian nationals is top priority.
  • It is advised to take shelter in bunkers and safe houses. Safety remains the first priority.
