Car catches fire, man escapes with injuries

New Delhi, Aug 31 (PTI) A 25-year-old man had a narrowescape as his car went up in flames all of a sudden nearTalkatora stadium roundabout in Lutyens area of Delhi today. The incident was reported around 11.45 AM. Abhishek, whowas driving the car, managed to escape with burn injuries onhis hand. He was immediately taken to RML Hospital fortreatment, said Jatin Narwal, DCP (New Delhi). He sustained 10-15 per cent burn injuries and wasdischarged after preliminary treatment, police said, addingtwo fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze. The cause of the fire is suspected to be some malfunctionin the engine. However, the exact cause will be clear afterthe mechanical inspection report is obtained, the officersaid. PTI SLB VIT NSDNSD
