The latest victim was identified as 40-year-old Pankaj Sharma, a resident of Hanuman Nagar village in Bihar’s Khagaria district. The other two deceased have been identified as Kishori, 40, and Sanjeet, 45.

With the latest recovery, five people have been accounted for at the collapse site, including three who lost their lives and two who sustained injuries. Both injured persons have received medical attention and are reported to be stable.

The three-storey building, which was under construction, collapsed at around 10:30 am on Thursday at Gali Sheesh Mahal, Gali Shehatara, near Ajmeri Gate in the Chawri Bazar area of Old Delhi.

In connection with the incident, Delhi Police have arrested three contractors identified as Siraj, Tajuddin and Furkan. All three are residents of Sirohi village in Haryana’s Faridabad district.

Police said a case has been registered against them under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The arrests were made as rescue efforts continued at the site amid concerns that more people could be trapped beneath the rubble.
