Engineer arrested for taking bribe

Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (PTI) An executive engineer anda cashier of electrical division were arrested by vigilancewing here for allegedly accepting Rs 42,000 bribe from acontractor to clear his bill and award new works, a vigilancerelease said today. Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and arrested DeepakKumar Bhuiyan, Executive Engineer and Himansu Chandra Swain,Cashier of GED-II, Cuttack yesterday while accepting the bribefrom Complainant Trilochan Sahu, the release said. Complainant Sahu alleged that he had executedrepairing and renovation of electrical works in differentgovernment quarters in Cuttack Town.
