Pune: The Porsche crash case in Pune which left two techies dead has developed a new twist on Monday. Police have revealed that Juvinile’s blood samples were replaced because of which there were no traces of alcohol found in his blood.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, “On 19th May, at around 11 am the blood sample which was taken at Sassoon Hospital was thrown in a dustbin of the hospital and the blood sample of another person was taken and sent to the forensic lab…CMO Srihari Halnor replaced this blood sample. During the investigation, we found Srihari Halnor replaced this on the instructions of the HOD Forensic Medicine Department of Sassoon, Ajay Tawre.”
Officials have said that police on Monday arrested two doctors of the Sassoon General Hospital for alleged manipulation of blood samples and destruction of evidence in the car accident by the underage boy. Police have also informed that among the arrested include the Head of the Forest Department of the hospital.
A senior police official said, “They have been arrested for alleged manipulation of blood samples and destruction of evidence in the case”. The case is currently being probed by the crime branch. Two IT professionals lost their lives after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding Porsche allegedly being driven by a minor on May 19.
The teenager was allegedly intoxicated when the collision occurred, according to the police. The Juvenile Justice Board first gave the youngster bail and required him to write an essay about traffic accidents. However, after protesting the police’s review application and receiving backlash, the youth was placed in an observation home until June 5. About the accident, the teenager’s grandfather and father, a realtor, have both been taken into custody by the police.
