New Delhi: A specially curated all-vegetarian menu was arranged for the world leaders and delegates who arrived for a G20 dinner hosted by President Draupadi Murmu on Saturday.
The dinner featured a special performance titled ‘Bharat Vadya Darshanam: Musical Journey of India’ by the ‘Gaandharva Aatodyam’ group, consisting of over 70 artists, offering a welcoming touch of Indian music. The menu included a three-course meal with a focus on millet-based dishes and Mumbai pao among the bread options, along with a delightful sweet dish.
The specially curated G20 Dinner menu for esteemed guests offers a delightful culinary experience:
Starters:
The starter, known as ‘Paatram’ or ‘A breath of fresh air,’ features Foxtail millet leaf crisps topped with a yoghurt sphere and spiced chutney.
Main Course:
The main course, aptly named ‘Vanavarnam’ or ‘strength from the soil,’ comprises a Jackfruit galette served with glazed forest mushrooms, little millet crisp, and curry leaf-tossed Kerala red rice.
Indian Breads:
The selection of Indian bread includes ‘Mumbai Pao,’ an onion seed-flavored soft bun, and ‘Bakarkhani,’ a cardamom-flavored sweet flatbread.
Dessert:
For dessert, indulge in ‘Madhurima’ or the ‘Pot of Gold,’ a cardamom-scented barnyard millet pudding accompanied by fig-peach compote and Ambemohar rice crisps.
Beverages:
To complement the meal, guests can enjoy beverages such as Kashmiri Kahwa, Filter coffee, and Darjeeling Tea. Additionally, Paan flavored chocolate leaves have been prepared for a delightful post-dinner treat.
