“No Evidence Provided”: CJP’s Saurav Das Rejects Foreign Funding Claims

Date:

New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) activist Saurav Das on Thursday strongly rejected Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh’s allegations that foreign-funded entities and cross-border networks were financing their youth-led movement, calling the claims “baseless and fabricated”.

The exchange followed remarks by Jitendra Singh, who alleged that CJP activists were receiving funds from unauthorised foreign sources, deep state operatives and anti-India organisations operating within and outside the country.

Singh also accused CJP activists Abhijeet Dipke and Ashutosh Ranka of receiving financial backing from US-based donors and Pakistani politicians. He claimed that these foreign-funded actors, along with anti-India “deep state” operatives, were working to manufacture a narrative against the country.

Responding to the allegations, Das challenged the government to present evidence and said the movement had been seeking clarification since before its first protest on June 6. He recalled that the CJP’s first press conference was held on June 3, when it had questioned the basis of the allegations.

“The allegation is baseless. The question of evidence is something we have been raising from day one, even before the first protest took place on June 6,” Das said.

He alleged that the same claims previously circulated by right-wing groups and extremist networks were now being repeated by a senior government minister. Das called the allegations a “shame” and said no evidence or justification had been provided in four to five months.

The CJP also criticised Singh’s remarks in a post on X, stating, “This is the shameful reality. A Union Minister can say anything and get away with it. This is precisely why even the Words of those occupying the highest chairs hold no Value today.”

The exchange came as Das and Ranka appeared at the Delhi Crime Branch office after being summoned in connection with the investigation into the October 13 Jantar Mantar trespassing case.

After leaving the office, Ranka said the activists would fully cooperate with the investigation. He maintained that displaying the Tricolour at Jantar Mantar or on a public road should not be considered a crime.
