New Delhi: As communal violence continues to escalate in Haryana, NewsMobile Editor-In-Chief has raised questions about the timing and underlying motives behind the unrest. Saurabh Shukla, while participating in a compelling debate with Arnab Goswami on Wednesday, suggested a potential larger conspiracy at play behind the communal unrest. The violence, which has tragically claimed six lives and left scores injured, has prompted concerns about its impact on India’s global image and economic stability, he remarked.
During the debate, Shukla articulated his concerns over the timing of the violence, which he believes coincides suspiciously with the upcoming G20 Summit scheduled to be hosted in New Delhi. He implied that the turmoil may be exploited by certain forces to tarnish India’s reputation on the global stage.
NewsMobile Editor also hinted at the possible involvement of Pakistan’s ISI in orchestrating the unrest, noting their alleged discomfort with India’s rising global success. He further stressed that ‘political parties across the spectrum shouldn’t disrupt the social fabric of the country because of political expediency as people suffer because of this.’
#GurugramViolence: Why India’s economic power hub ahead of G-20 summit was the target?

‘This is a very dangerous game some of the political parties are playing damaging social cohesion and fabric. The other thing is that Pakistan’s ISI is now involved in some of these activities because they are rattled by India’s global success. Why is this happening a month before the G20 summit, which is scheduled to happen in Delhi? Why is it happening? It is a deliberate attempt to malign India’s reputation, which will be undermined by these cycles of violence. Their idea is to hit economic power centers like Gurgaon,’ he said.
Drawing parallels to a recent attempt to disrupt Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United States, Shukla stressed the significance of understanding the broader implications of the ongoing violence. ‘The same toolkit was trying to disrupt PM Modi’s visit to the United States. We have to go beyond, seeing the bigger picture of violence. This is to attack India’s global image and economy,’ he added.
He also expressed his concerns about the apparent inability of the Haryana government to anticipate and quell such large-scale mobilization and violence. ‘When there was a trigger then even the state government should have anticipated it. Why this kind of mobilization happened? The bigger casualty is the people of India, the biggest casualty is India’s global image,’ NewsMobile Editor remarked.
Reportedly, the communal violence was sparked by clashes during a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession in Haryana’s Nuh district. A mob attempted to obstruct the procession, resulting in stone pelting and the destruction of vehicles. The situation continues to be tense and has prompted heightened security measures in affected areas, including strengthened security around religious sites. Internet services have been suspended to prevent the spread of inflammatory content.
Law enforcement and local authorities have engaged in discussions with prominent members of both communities to restore peace and prevent further escalation of violence.
