Robbers loot Rs 36.50 lakh from petrol pump employees

New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) Four employees of a petrol pumpwere robbed of cash Rs 36.50 lakh that they were carrying todeposit in a bank, at Nathupura flyover in east Delhi’s NandNagri area today. Police said the employees of the petrol pump in NandNagri were going to a bank in Durgapuri to deposit Rs 36.50lakh which was looted from them at gun point by bike bornerobbers at around 11 am. The four employees Arvind, Vinod, Narendra and Manoj werecarrying the cash in a car which was followed by four robberson two motorcycles. As soon as the car reached the Nathupuraflyover they were intercepted and forced to stop. The robbers then got down from their bikes and surroundedthe car and broke open its windowpane with the butt of gunsand snatched away the bag containing Rs 36.50 lakh, said asenior police officer. A case has been registered in this connection andinvestigation has been taken up. Police is screening CCTVfootage on the route followed by the employees to identify therobbers, he said. The employees and owner of the petrol pump have also beenquestioned in connection with the loot. PTI VITRG
