Southern Railway Zone emerge champs in RPF Athletics

Dhanbad (WB), Aug 29 (PTI) Southern Railway Zone emergedchampion in All India RPF Athletics championship. SER bagged 188 points with 30 medals — 13 gold, 7 silverand 10 bronze — in the four-day competition which concludedhere at IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM) last evening. SER was followed by Central Railway Zone which got 106points with 16 medals — 4 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze. Northern and Western Railway were declared joint thirdwith 98 points. A Selvan of SER and Kalpana Rani of Nothern Railwaywere declared best men and women athletes respectively. Selvan won gold in 100 and 200 mt race and silver inlong jump while Kalpana clinched three gold in 200 mt race,long jump and triple jump. PTI COR NNATKPD
