Ranchi: An 18-year-old man from Sahibganj district of Jharkhand drowned after he jumped into deep water from a height to make an Instagram reel on Monday evening. The man by the name of Tausif jumped into a quarry lake from a height of about 100 feet, his friends in the lake tried to save him but were unsuccessful.
Locals and the police were alerted about the incident and search operations were launched. The youth’s body was recovered later. A video of the incident shows the young man jumping into the water while his friends record the dare. However, as soon as he landed and started swimming in the water he began drowning.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Kushwaha, after jumping into the water several feet deep, the young man could not control himself and drowned. Earlier this month, a 22-year-old man in Rajasthan’s Kota district accidentally shot himself in the chest while making an Instagram reel.
The man, Yashwant Nagar, was filming with a country-made pistol near a shop when the gun accidentally discharged. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Kumar Kushwaha stated that the young man lost control and drowned after jumping into several feet of deep water.
A 22-year-old guy in the Kota region of Rajasthan unintentionally shot himself in the chest earlier this month while creating an Instagram clip. The man, Yashwant Nagar, was filming close to a store when his handgun unintentionally fired. After being taken to the hospital quickly, the medical staff pronounced him dead there.
