A Bhartiya Janta Party minister from Uttar Pradesh visited Rajnish Kumar Singh’s residence in Aligarh district’s Lohagadh, as a part of the party’s Dalit outreach programme. But instead of eating the meal cooked by a Dalit family, the minister Suresh Rana along with other BJP leaders, ordered food from an eatery outside.
Under the outreach programme, BJP has asked all MPs and MLAs and union ministers to spend nights in villages where the population of Dalits is more.
The food arranged from outside included dal makhni, mattar paneer, pulao, tandoori roti, Kheer and gulab jamun for dessert.
When Suresh Rana was confronted, he flatly denied all allegations saying that he ordered food from an eatery because there were over 100 people along with him. He further said that the family was well aware of his arrival and that he ate the food which was prepared by them. “I had dinner in their drawing room and also ate food prepared by the family. They were well aware of my visit.”
