Fact Check: Did LK Advani Criticise Modi, Shah And RSS Through His Tweet? Here’s The Truth


An image showing a screenshot of a tweet thread has gone viral on social media, claiming that BJP leader LK Advani expressing regret for supporting the RSS. Advani has also criticised Modi and Shah as well in the tweet. Many users have shared the post appealing BJP supporters to wake up and stop supporting the party.

A Facebook user posted the viral post with a caption: भाजपा के दिग्गज नेता आदरणीय आडवाणी जी का जमीर जाग चुका है अंध भक्तों तुम लोग बताओ तुम्हारा कब जागेगा। (English translation: The conscience of respected veteran leader of BJP Advani ji has awakened blind devotees, you people tell me when will you wake up.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Looking closely at the screenshot, we could notice the username of the account @LK_Adwani. We checked the platform for the same and found that no such account exists on X, indicating that the screenshot might be edited in the name of Advani.

Searching further, we found that the name used in the account is Lal Krishna Adwani, whereas the correct name of the leader is Lal Krishna Advani, as mentioned on the official website of BJP.

Moreover, a comment like this by the veteran leader of the party would have made headlines immediately. There was no credible source of news corroborating the same.  

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming BJP leader LK Advani criticised RSS along with Modi and Shah through a tweet, is false.
