A billboard featuring a man defecating in the open is doing the rounds on social media, with many claiming that the Canadian municipalities have asked Indians to stop open defecation in parks and beaches.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:
Municipalities across the Canadian cities with high pajeet population have put posters in Hindi across the park and beaches asking Hindus not to defecate in the open.
It is normal in India as millions of them still don’t have the facility of a washroom and they defecate in the open.

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the viral picture, the NM team identified a Shutterstock image, dated May 1, 2018, which matches with the viral picture except for the face of the person. As per yhe image description, the billboard is from the streets of Accra, Ghana.
Searching further, we came across a news article from Business Ghana published on the same day. The picture in the article matches with one on the billboards across Accra, informing that the Canadian government gave about $850,000 to fund one of Ghana’s most “significant” development challenges.
This makes it clear that the picture of a billboard in Accra has been edited to spread misinformation. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post is misleading.
