FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false.

Firstly, we put the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search and found the same video in a bulletin by Zee Rajasthan published on June 12, 2021. The title of the video on YouTube read, “Udaipur Robbery Live : युवक-युवती के साथ लूट की वारदात। Viral Video । Udaipur News । Badi Talab Road”. (Translation: Udaipur Robbery Live : Incident of robbery with a couple। Viral Video । Udaipur News । Badi Talab Road)

As per the video, the incident took place on Badi Talab Road in Udaipur when some miscreants carrying a knife forcefully stopped a car and robbed a couple. The girl made a video of the whole incident.

Further, we found a video published by News18 Rajasthan on YouTube dated June 14, 2021. “Udaipur: बड़ी तालाब के पास हुई लूट की वारदात के 2 आरोपी गिरफ्तार | News18 Rajasthan”, the title read. (Translation: Udaipur: 2 accused arrested in the robbery incident near Badi Talab. News18 Rajasthan)

The video mentioned that two of the four accused who robbed the couple at knifepoint in Udaipur have been arrested by the district special team. The accused, Lala Kalbelia and Rahul Meghwal, were arrested by the special team of Udaipur Police in the Kapasan forests in Chittorgarh district.

In conclusion, the information proves that the incident took place in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and not Saputara Highway in Gujarat. Hence, the claim is misleading.
