A railway notification is widely shared on social media depicting a proposed timetable for the Vande Bharat Express on the Asansol to Puri route. The route suggests that the train will travel from Asansol via Adra to Bankura, proceeding through Medinipur-Kharagpur before reaching Puri. Many users have expressed their enthusiasm, and speculated about the potential schedule for the new Vande Bharat Express that will supposedly pass through Bankura on its journey from Asansol to Puri.
The image is shared on Facebook with a caption: “বাঁকুড়া দিয়ে যাবে নতুন বন্দে ভারত। আসানসোল পুরী বন্দে ভারত। সম্ভাব্য সময়সূচি।” (English version: see below.)

FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
Had the railway authorities decided to operate a Vande Bharat Express on the Asansol-Puri route, it would have been covered by the mainstream media. But, we could not find any report corroborating the viral claim.
With a keyword search, the NM team came across a News18 Bangla report, dated December 6. According to the report, the Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has refuted such claims, asserting that no such decision has been made and that the circulated notification is entirely false.
The official Facebook page of Eastern Railway Headquarters had also issued a post on December 6, stating that the viral notification was false.
Thus, it is confirmed that the viral notification about Vande Bharat Express’ new route from Asansol to Puri is fake.
