A video claiming the CM of Uttarakhand was seen openly distributing money in a BJP envelope to get votes in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections is doing the rounds on social media. Many users have criticised the minister, Election Commission, and the police for supporting him while he bribes the voters.
A Facebook user posted the viral post with the following caption:
मोदी के 400 पार का ढोल फाड़ते पुस्कर धामी… खुले आम बंट रहा है बीजेपी के लिफ़ाफ़े में वोट डालने के पैसा… पुस्कर धामी का साथ दे रहे हैं पुलिस अधिकारी जिनकी सुरक्षा में ये कार्य हो रहा है…
चुनाव आयोग को लकवा मार चुका है, इसलिए ये ख़बरें देखने और सुनने की उसकी क्ष्मता समाप्त हो चुकी है… ज़िम्मेदार कौन?… 🤔🤔😡😡

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.
Looking closely at the envelope, the NM team could see Shiv Arora written on one side. Checking further, we came across a Facebook post, dated February 2022, showing a clearer picture of the envelope with Shiva Arora’s name on it. This indicates that the video, too, might be from 2022, and not recent.
According to a YouTube report on the official channel of News18, Shiv Arora was, indeed, caught distributing money to gain people’s votes during the Uttarakhand elections in the state.
There is no link of Dhami with Arora in any way. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming to show Uttarakhand CM, Dhami, distributing notes to gain votes, is false.
