NewsMobile did a fact-check and found the claim to be fake.
On breaking the video into multiple keyframes and doing a Google Reverse Image Search, we found that the same video was uploaded by a hyperlocal YouTube channel, A One media on March 7, 2022. The report suggests that the incident took place in Ludhiana, Punjab where some local people were beating a Sikh youth.
Another hyperlocal news channel Sikh Sangat Uttarakhand also did a report on the viral video on March 5, 2022. In the video, the Punjab Police told the anchor that the incident took place on March 1 under Tibba Police Station limits. The report also stated that the man was beaten up for stealing a mobile phone.
PTC News also reported about the incident on March 5, 2022.
