NM VERIFIED
NewsMobile verified the claim and found that it is misleading.
The NM team initiated its verification by extracting keyframes from the viral video and running them through a reverse image search. The search results led to an identical video posted by a Facebook page named ‘The Ghumakkad‘ on October 25, 2026. A closer examination of the post revealed that the page had clearly mentioned that the video was scripted and did not depict an actual incident.
The disclaimer accompanying the video stated, “This is not a real incident, just made for entertainment and awareness purposes.”
Further verification of the Facebook page’s other uploads and its description revealed that the content shared on the page was created for scripted awareness and entertainment purposes.
The identical visuals, along with the disclaimer provided by the original uploader, establish that the viral footage is not a recording of an actual robbery.

The viral video showing a shopkeeper being robbed by a customer is scripted and has been misleadingly circulated on social media as a real-life incident. Hence, the claim is false.
