New Delhi: Mysteriously, there was no word about its prime ministerial aspirant Narendra Modi’s constituency in the second list of BJP candidates announced on Saturday. Â
BJP’s Karnataka strong man B S Yeddyurappa is nominated from Shimoga. Ananth Kumar will contest against Nandan Nilekani from South Bangalore. The journalist-turned-spokesperson, Chandan Mitra, will contest from Hooghly and singer Babul Supriyo from Asansol, both in West Bengal.
Â
The bulk of the 52 nominees announced come from Karnataka, where the party declared 20 out of the 28 seats it plans to contest. A total of nine seats from West Bengal, three from Kerala, five from Orissa and two from Tripura were declared. The remaining list will be released on March 13.
