New Delhi: Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor was questioned on Monday evening for four hours by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Delhi police on the alleged murder of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.
Sources informed that Tharoor was asked over 50 questions by a team of four officers in the first of a likely two rounds of interrogation.
According to the credible sources the SIT questioned Tharoor on the following points:
1. On January 17, why was the PCR not informed about the death of Sunanda and instead the call made to Sarojini Nagar Police Station?
2. Did you send mails to Doctors of AIIMS to inform them that Sunanda was suffering from Lupus? If yes then why?
3. Who advised to give alprax tablets to Sunanda and why?
4. What was the name of the Doctor who prescribed the alprax tablets?
5. After the Congress Session where did you go? Did you return to hotel directly or you went somewhere else?
6. During January 14-17 did you both fight or have heated arguments?
7. What were the main reasons for the heated arguments between you and Sunanda?
8. Did Sunanada ever threaten to expose you?
9. Medical report of Sunanda Pushkar suggests several marks of injury on her body which were 12 hours to four days old. How did Sunanda got those injury marks?
10. Medical Report also suggests that before her death, Sunanda was not ill, and nor was she suffering from any disease. Whereas you stated that she was under treatment, Why?
11. How long did you stay at the AICC meeting?
12. The time when you received the call of Sunanda’s death, where were you?
14. Did Sunanda have any personal rivalry with anyone?
15. Do you suspect anyone?
A Senior official requesting anonymity informed NewsMobile that Tharoor answered most of the questions and did admit, to some extent, that there was marital trouble between him and Sunanda.
Delhi Police Commissioner, BS Bassi, told reporters on Tuesday, “We will analyse his response and decide whether any further questioning is required.â€
