Apple offers to replace faulty iPhone 6 Plus camera

Date:

Does the camera on your iPhone 6 Plus turn out blurry photos? Are your selfies not that sharp? Now, there is a reason to cheer as you might be able to get it replaced for free.

Yes, you that right. Apple said it would be replacing iPhone 6 Plus cameras that take blurry photos due to faulty hardware. A small percentage of 6 Plus have a faulty component that affects image quality and that the company will replace the iSight camera on the back of those phones at no charge.

The iSight problem is due to some component within the camera and is only seen only in a select serial number range, which were sold between September 2014 and January 2015. The problem doesn’t extend to iPhone 6.

However, Apple also stated that If your iPhone 6 Plus has any damage such as a cracked screen which impairs the camera replacement, that issue will need to be resolved prior to service. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the repair.

The iPhone 6 Plus went on sale in late September last year, alongside a sister phone, the iPhone 6. The devices were seen by many as an answer to rival Samsung’s successful larger-screened smartphones, and the answer seemed to be an effective one.

So, if you’ve bought the larger iPhone 6 in the mentioned period, claim for replacement by keying in your device’s serial number here.
