Iran has warned the United States that any fresh military confrontation could continue longer than the previous conflict, insisting that Washington would have no control over its duration or outcome.
On Sunday, November 1, Iranian Army spokesperson Mohammad Akraminia said US President Donald Trump would not be able to determine the timing or conditions for ending a possible future war.
Akraminia was referring to the conflict that began on February 28 with US-Israeli strikes on Iran, which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks, while Iran-backed groups also became involved in the fighting in Lebanon and Yemen.
Meanwhile, Iranian Defence Minister Mehrdad Akhlaghi warned that any attack on the country would trigger a strong response. He described Iran’s possible retaliation as “proportionate, decisive, and impactful”.
The latest statements signal Tehran’s firm position against any further military action, with its leadership warning that the consequences of another confrontation would not be determined by Washington.
