The aircraft, registered as N722BD, crashed near Military Trail around 12:50 pm local time. Videos captured the jet plunging towards the ground before exploding into a massive fireball.

The impact left a large crater on the road, scattered debris, damaged at least one mobile home and brought down power lines. The crash site was around nine miles from Mar-a-Lago.

Air traffic control recordings reportedly captured the crew issuing a mayday call as the aircraft rapidly lost altitude.

The pilot reported a descent of up to 10,000 feet per minute, later warning of an overspeed condition and an even faster descent.

A crew member was heard saying, “Holy f–k, we’re out of time,” shortly before the crash.

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy confirmed the nine deaths and said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was sending a team to assist the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation.
