Bayern Munich captain and England striker Harry Kane has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the German champions until 2029, the club announced on Thursday.
The 33-year-old forward was entering the final year of his original four-year agreement, which he signed after joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £86 million in 2023.
Kane has enjoyed a prolific spell in Germany and was instrumental in Bayern’s league and cup double last season. He scored a club-record 61 goals in 51 appearances during the campaign.
“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” Kane said after agreeing to the new deal.
The striker added that his family was settled in Munich and expressed his desire to continue competing for major honours with the club.
Kane’s 2025-26 campaign was particularly impressive, with the forward scoring 73 goals across appearances for Bayern and England. His performances earned him the Ballon d’Or, making him the first Bundesliga player to win the prestigious award since Matthias Sammer in 1996.
Since arriving in Germany, Kane has scored 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga appearances. He has won three consecutive Bundesliga Golden Boot awards and two league titles, while also collecting the Bundesliga Player of the Season award for 2024-25.
The extension represents a significant change in Kane’s career trajectory. Before moving to Bayern, he had never won a major team trophy with either club or country. He has since lifted five trophies with the German side while establishing himself among the world’s leading strikers.
Kane has already scored 12 goals for Bayern this season, taking his overall tally for the club to 156 goals in 161 matches.
The England captain is also his country’s all-time leading scorer, with 73 goals in 65 appearances. In September, he equalled Peter Shilton’s record of 125 England caps.
Kane further strengthened his international legacy at this summer’s World Cup, scoring six goals to take his tournament tally to 14 in 18 appearances and become England’s leading World Cup scorer.
With his new contract running through 2029, Kane will continue to spearhead Bayern’s attack as the club seeks further domestic and European success.
