Lok Sabha Elections 2024: From Rajinikanth to Kamal Haasan, celebrities cast their votes


As India’s Lok Sabha elections for 2024 commenced on April 19, a diverse array of celebrities and spiritual leaders actively participated alongside millions of citizens by casting their votes. Election Commission data reveals a voter turnout of nearly 60% recorded till 5 pm across 102 seats and 21 states.

Kamal Haasan, the veteran actor and founder of Makkal Needhi Maiam, who lent his support to the DMK-Congress alliance during the LS polls, exercised his democratic right at Teynampet in Chennai.

Joining him in the electoral process were renowned celebrities such as Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja, and Ajith Kumar, who were among the early voters, demonstrating their commitment to civic duty.

Meanwhile, in Chennai, a significant turnout of stars including Vijay Sethupathi, and Trisha was observed, as they each cast their votes in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, showcasing their active engagement in the democratic process.

In Alwarpet, Chennai, actor Dhanush was seen fulfilling his responsibility as a citizen by exercising his franchise at a local polling booth, contributing to the electoral proceedings.

Furthermore, veteran actor Karthik proudly displayed his inked finger, symbolizing his participation in the democratic exercise, after casting his vote at a polling station in Chennai’s Lok Sabha elections’ first phase.

Overall, the enthusiastic participation of these prominent figures underscores the significance of voting and civic engagement in shaping the future of the nation.
