IT raids at Ludhiana jewellers shop, residence

Ludhiana: Officials of the Income Tax department on Thursday raided the shop and residence of a leading jeweller of the Ludhiana city.

Raids were simultaneously conducted at the jewellery shop at College Road and residence of the jeweller at Gurdev Nagar, officials said.

The raids were conducted under the supervision of Rohit Mehra, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax (Investigation).

The department is tight-lipped on the results of the ongoing searches but officials said they are expecting the recovery of a large amount of undisclosed income from the operation.
